Section V. SCALPER VIBRATING SCREEN ASSEMBLY
146.
General
The scalper vibrating screen assembly removes the sand, dirt, and small rock and diverts it either through the
screen into the under hopper or passes it over the end of the screen into the diverter box or into the coarse chute. Rocks
that are too large to fall between the grizzly bars are fed into the crusher jaws. The scalper vibrating screen assembly
consists of a feed box, liners, grizzly bars, screen eccentric drive shaft, counterweight, reduction gear, under hopper,
diverter box, chutes and gates, electric motor, drive belt, and drive sheaves. The scalper vibrating screen assembly is
mounted on the crusher main frame with rubber mountings and diagonal I-beam supports.
