R O T A R Y ELEVATOR ASSEMBLY REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS
Section I. BAFFLE AND CHUTE, AND PADDLE ASSEMBLIES
1 6 9 . General
The baffle and chute assembly is located in-
a i d e the elevator wheel assembly. The baffle
and chute assembly transfers the material from
t h e elevating wheel paddles to the conveyor
belt.
1 7 0 . Baffle and Chute Assembly Removal
a. Remove the power cable reel assembly
(TM 5-3820-205-201).
b . Remove the gear reducer assembly (TM
5-3820-205-20/1)
c. Remove the feeder conveyor hopper (par.
141).
d . Refer to figure 51, and remove the baffle
and chute assembly from the unit.
171. Baffle and Chute Assembly Cleaning,
Inspection, and Repair
a. Cleaning. Clean all parts and hardware in
an approved Cleaning solvent. Dry thoroughly.
b. Inspection and Repair.
(1) Inspect all parts for breaks, cracks,
bends, defects, damage, or worn con-
dition.
( 2 ) Inspect all a t t a c h i n g h a r d w a r e f o r
breaks, cracks, bends, damage, or
s t r i p p e d threads.
(3) Replace or repair all defective or dam-
a g e d parts and hardware.
