4-57. V-Belt Adjustment
a. General. To adjust V-belts it will be necessary to
make more than one adjustment. Adjustment on the lower
countershaft must be made on both sides of unit.
b. Screen and Side Conveyor Countershaft to Sand
Conveyor Drive. Refer to figure 4-49 and adjust the screen
and side conveyor countershaft to sand conveyor drive V-
belt as follows:
(1) Loosen jam nut (2).
(2) Turn adjusting screw to increase or decrease V-
belt tension.
(3) Tighten jam nut (2).
c. Screen and Side Conveyor Countershaft to Rock
Conveyor Drive. Refer to figure 4-50 and adjust the screen
and side conveyor countershaft to rock conveyor drive V-
belt as follows:
(1) Loosen jam nuts (2).
(2) Adjust V-belt tension to rock conveyor drive idler
(A) with adjusting screw.
(3) Tighten jam nut (2).
(4) Loosen jam nut (2) on torque arm (B).
(5) Turn turnbuckle to increase or decrease belt
tension to speed reducer. belt tension to speed reducer.
(6) Tighten jam nut (2). to sand conveyor drive V-
belt adjustment
