4-60. Screen Drive V-Belt Idler
a. General. The countershaft is mounted on a support
bracket attached to the truck frame and screen countershaft
support. The bracket is slotted to permit movement of the
idler assembly. Adjustable belt idler is provided to regulate
belt tension. The idlers are mounted on slotted support
brackets which allow the idler to be properly adjusted.
b. Removal. Refer to figure 4-59 and remove the
screen drive idler.
c. Disassembly. Refer to figure 4-60 and disassemble
the screen drive idler in numerical sequence.
d. Inspection.
(1) Inspect bearings for wear or damage.
(2) Inspect pulley grooves for excessive wear.
Replace all defective parts.
e. Reassembly. Refer to figure 4-60 and reassemble
the screen drive idler in the reverse ordr of disassembly.
f. Installation.
(1) Refer to figure 4-59 and install the screen drive
idler.
(2) Adjust V-belts (para 4-57).
