4-62. Roll Crusher Drive V-Belt Idler
a.
General.
The flywheel driven by the main
countershaft incorporates two idlers. The smooth pulley
is not adjustable.
b. Removal. Refer to figure 4-63 and remove the roll
crusher idlers.
c. Disassembly. Refer to figure 4-64 and disassemble
the roll crusher idler in numerical sequence.
d. Inspection.
(1) Inspect the idler shaft (15, fig. 4-64A) and
bearings (8 and 13) for wear.
(2) Inspect idler support (29) and bracket (23) for
cracks or damage.
(3) Inspect pulley (10) for damage.
(4) Inspect bearings (8 and 13, fig. 4-64B) and shaft
(16) for excessive wear.
(5) Inspect pulley (10) for wear.
(6) Inspect support (21) for cracks and damage.
(7) Inspect all mounting hardware. Replace a
defective part.
e. Reassembly. Refer to figure 4-64 and reassemble
the roll crusher idler in reverse order.
f. Installation.
(1) Refer to figure 4-63 and install the roll crusher
idler.
(2) Adjust V-belt (para 4-57).
